Damnable "publish your comment" button and my inept grasp of this "blogger." That's a pretty painful comic, but these things happen when you've got a character not prepared to be shot down. As the old saying goes, "Love is a battlefield." Your little guy must become a well trained solider in order to be victorious on the battlefield.
Anyway, here's my unsolicited suggestion of script for the next one.
Next time in "The Adventures in JMD":
Panel 1: Guy calls girl back up "Hey, it's me again."
Panel 2: "Look, I know this might sound a bit awkward, but I've still got these two tickets..."
Panel 3: "No, no, like I said it's cool, we're friends."
Panel 4: "No, I'm not just going to give them to you, c'mon."
Panel 5: "I mean it, it's cool that you don't want to go."
Panel 6: "I know, yea, it would just send the wrong message."
Panel 7: "Yea, look, anyway, the reason I called back was because I was wondering, from one friend to another, if you knew anyone else who's been wanting to see this flick?"
Panel 6: "Really? I don't think I've met her, any chance you could introduce me?"
Panel 7: "Sweet! I really appreciate this. Thanks for being a friend."
Panel 8: Guy hangs up phone "C'ya, bye!"
Panel 9: Guy looks off page with smirk on face.
Panel 10: Smile broadens
Panel 11: Smile broadens yet further
Panel 12: Guy walks off page.
Panel 13: "YES!"
The comic wraps up nicely, done. Though it could end badly as well, but you never know. At that point he's got nothing to loose.
